Description

A hearty and comforting dish featuring seasoned ground beef, cabbage, and a rich tomato sauce, all cooked effortlessly in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 14-ounce can petite diced tomatoes
  • 6-ounce can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion, dried thyme, red pepper flakes, parsley, and kosher salt to the beef. Sauté until the onions are softened.
  3. Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker and add chopped cabbage.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and water to create the sauce.
  5. Pour the sauce over the beef and cabbage mixture in the slow cooker. Mix gently.
  6. Cover and set the slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours.
  7. Once cooked, stir the dish and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of beef broth in the sauce. Optional: Include bell peppers or carrots for added nutrition.
