- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 14-ounce can petite diced tomatoes
- 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion, dried thyme, red pepper flakes, parsley, and kosher salt to the beef. Sauté until the onions are softened.
- Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker and add chopped cabbage.
- In a separate bowl, mix diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and water to create the sauce.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and cabbage mixture in the slow cooker. Mix gently.
- Cover and set the slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours.
- Once cooked, stir the dish and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of beef broth in the sauce. Optional: Include bell peppers or carrots for added nutrition.
