Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 0.5 cups Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Boiling Water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, blend together the granulated sugar, eggs, whole milk, and vegetable oil for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Carefully stir in the boiling water.
  7. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an ultra-moist cake, substitute half of the granulated sugar with brown sugar. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract for extra flavor.
