Description

A delightful dessert featuring a sweet-and-tart cherry filling enveloped in a flaky crust, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Fresh Cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 prepared Pie Crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pitted cherries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Toss gently and let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Roll out one half of your pie crust and transfer it to the pie dish, trimming any excess crust.
  4. Pour the cherry filling into the prepared crust and dot with butter.
  5. Roll out the second half of the pie crust; cut into strips for a lattice or cover completely.
  6. Trim and crimp the edges to seal.
  7. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for at least one hour before slicing.

Notes

Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract to the filling for extra flavor.
