Description
A delightful bite-sized version of classic grilled cheese sandwiches, featuring rich cheddar cheese in soft Hawaiian rolls with a hint of garlic and parsley.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Hawaiian dinner rolls
- 12 slices of cheddar cheese
- 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom attached.
- Spread a generous amount of the butter mixture onto the cut side of each roll.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
- Put the top half of the rolls back on, pressing down gently.
- Arrange the filled rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush any remaining butter mixture on top of the rolls.
- Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for easy spreading. Fresh rolls will maintain softness, and additional cheese can enhance flavor.
