Description

A delightful bite-sized version of classic grilled cheese sandwiches, featuring rich cheddar cheese in soft Hawaiian rolls with a hint of garlic and parsley.


Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian dinner rolls
  • 12 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom attached.
  4. Spread a generous amount of the butter mixture onto the cut side of each roll.
  5. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
  6. Put the top half of the rolls back on, pressing down gently.
  7. Arrange the filled rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush any remaining butter mixture on top of the rolls.
  9. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easy spreading. Fresh rolls will maintain softness, and additional cheese can enhance flavor.
